Stop calling what’s happening in Ferguson a “riot”.
It is not a riot.
Vancouver losing the Stanley Cup a few years ago was a riot. It was angry, drunken destruction with no purpose. (And as a Canadian, it was a shameful event)
Ferguson is not a riot. It is a protest. It is an uprising. It is a civil rights revolution. The prople of Ferguson may be angry, but they have a reason to be angry, and they are not violent, and they are not hooligans, thugs or looters. They are protesting for their human rights which are currently being denied.
Look at the difference between a riot and a protest. A riot is chaos. A protest has a purpose.
The Holmes Brothers
Don’t be absurd, I am not given to outbursts of brotherly compassion.
You know what happened to the other one.
[Painting of Death as a spectral nanny taking a child and infant away from their bereaved family. A detail shows the family’s house number is 1918.]
I never realized this until seeing the detail, but this painting is most likely about the flu pandemic.
Horses in Abstract, Diptych
I was out taking long exposure photographs of the soft evening light. These photographs I created an hour ago however, we’re completely by accident as a result.
Having my camera all set up at a slow shutter speed, I must have spooked these two beautiful show jumping horses, which then proceeded to gallop up and down the field. Without thinking about my camera I just shot away and these were the beautiful results that occurred.
GOODBYE MY ALMOST LOVER. GOODBYE MY HOPELESS DREAM.
